Management and administration overview

The Management & Administration Support Services section brings together the administrative, financial, human resources, training, prevention and communication structures that support the scientific and institutional activity of the Center.

Executive and strategic management

Administrative and strategic support for the Scientific Director, FICUS-associated activity, CSIC-associated activity and institutional projects.

  • Executive Office

    Operating under the direct supervision of the Scientific Director, this office provides comprehensive administrative and logistical support to the Scientific Director, Center personnel, and visiting researchers.

    Responsible for the processing, management, and oversight of FICUS-associated projects; supervision of contracted personnel; and coordination of the Center's training programs and support services.

    Responsible for all operations related to CSIC-associated activities at the CIC, encompassing economic and financial project management, personnel recruitment and administration, general accounting, and budget preparation.

Financial, project and contract management

Budgetary, financial, project, billing, service commission, contracting and expense management for FICUS and CSIC activities.

  • Accounting & Project Management

    Responsible for the budgetary and financial management of FICUS projects and activities, including preparation of the institutional annual budget and financial statements; management and justification of competitive research grants; administration of contracts and agreements with public and private institutions; and oversight of revenue generated through the Center's units and services.

    Responsible for the economic and budgetary management of projects and activities associated with CSIC researchers.

    Responsible for providing administrative and economic-financial support to CSIC-associated activities at the Center, including the management and processing of service commissions for CSIC personnel.

    Responsible for the management, processing, and advisory support of procurement procedures for supplies and services required to fulfil the Foundation's objectives, in full compliance with current Public Sector Contracts Law applicable to contracting authorities.

    Provides administrative management support for both FICUS and CSIC, serving as the operational link with the Research Management Agency of the University of Salamanca (AGI).

People, training and risk prevention

Human resources, occupational risk prevention and administrative management of CIC university training programs.

    Responsible for all procedures related to the recruitment and contracting of scientific, technical, and administrative staff, as well as payroll management and social security compliance for all FICUS employees.

    Oversees quality management systems (ISO 9001 and ISO 45001); develops general quality assurance and prevention procedures; manages occupational risk prevention for FICUS staff; delivers training in workplace safety and emergency response; coordinates annual evacuation drills; manages workplace accident reporting; and liaises with external occupational risk prevention services.

    Responsible for the administrative coordination and management of the Center's university training programs, including the Master's Degree program and the Doctoral Program.

Communication and marketing

Scientific culture, outreach, corporate and internal communication, institutional social media and social marketing activity.

  • Communication & Marketing Office

    Dedicated to the promotion of scientific culture, this office has held recognition as a Unit of Scientific Culture and Innovation by FECYT since 2016.

    Its core activities encompass scientific outreach, corporate and internal communications, and management of the Center's institutional social media channels.

    The office also cultivates relationships with companies, associations, and donors, advocating for the value of cancer research and prevention through targeted social marketing campaigns.
